Anaheim or Anna's home is an old town in Orange County lore. There is many places around there that are much more interesting than Anaheim. This area was home to much of Orange County's farm land and still has pockets of great produce and farm land. The strawberry fields of Los Alamitos are superior and the Bower's Museum of Santa Ana is legendary. Do your research before you come and don't be confined to "Dizzyland". I am an Orange County native and I remember watching Disneyland being built. Not such a good idea as it was in the 1950"s

Anaheim, California is a nice small town that lies in the shadow of Los Angeles, CA. We went there for a church conference, but after that, we had time to explore the area.
San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Juan Capistrano are all close so there is no lack for entertainment or attractions. We stayed in a Holiday nn near Costa Mesa. The room was clean and served well enough for sleeping. The main attraction in the area is Disneyland.
If you are visiting DisneyLand, I would recommend staying in Anaheim. Easy access to nearby metropolitan areas and easy access to the ocean.
