| | Due to its location in the Lake Geneva basin, the city is blessed with a very mild climate. Ideal for a cruise: a whole flotilla of steamships and motorboats invites you to extensive or short cruises on the lake. It's easy to alternate between the shores by means of speedboats called Mouettes. An authentic flea market takes place every Wednesday and Saturday on the Plateau of Plainpalais. A ride through the Geneva vineyards is a rewarding experience any time of the year, and winetastings are indicated. If time is scarce, but you want to enjoy the city's green lungs, take a stroll through the wonderfully laid out Parc de la Grange with its many rose gardens. Or walk along the lake to the botanical garden with its aviaries full of exotic birds. Stop also at Perie-du-Lac, a fine restaurant from the 1930s. Even the most tired traveller will feel restored after a visit to the spa and wellness centre after the rain in the heart of the city.
