Parc Denantou in Ouchy delights visitors with its rhododendrons and camellias.

2/10/2007 - For those with a sweet tooth, Blondel is the place of pilgrimage at Rue de Bourg. For 150 years it has been the epitome of homemade chocolate. By now, 120 different sweet creations are on offer. Fresh from the farms of the Vaud region, cheese, wine, sausages and fruit are offered by La Ferme Vaudoise at Place de la Palud. Indigenous are also the wood, textiles and ceramics of Boutique Art Suisse on Rue Enning. For jewellery and watches, shoppers head to Bucherer on Rue de Bourg. And because the many students of this university town need books, the selection is large at Les Yeux Fertiles at Place de L'Europa. The narrow lanes of the Old Town with their many stores and boutiques are wonderful for strolling.

The uncontested meeting place for sports fans in Fitness Holmes Place, where on works out on the centrally located Rue Mercerie. Brasserie du Chateau brews its own beer, served at the bar on Place du Tunnel on weekdays after 5pm. Jazz fans climb down to the cellar of Le Chorus to enjoy jazz and jam sessions. If you want to pamper yourself, get a beauty treatment at Yookoso and relax in the bar/lounge with attached nail studio and hair-design parlour.
